Pfatt Pfest Adventure Day 2...continued

The Magic of Wendy Addison

Have you seen this sign and this door before? Maybe in "Where Women Create" or Somerset Studio magazine. Possibly Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine or the many other places that Wendy Addison's s studio has been showcased. The most incredible thing about what is behind these doors is something that you won't tire of. You can't ever tire of. It is pure beauty. The most beautiful thing about it though, is Wendy herself. A sweet, hardworking, overwhelmingly talented yet humble woman.

After enjoying everything around us Wendy shared with us a book she is writing. She not only showed us the illustrations she has been working on but she recited the story to us as she walked us through the book. It was so wonderful it brought tears to many eyes.

Pure Blissful Magic

note: Wendy's book is being offered at a limited edition of 350. There are still some editions available.

Pfatt Pfest Adventure Day 2

Day 2 of Pfatt Pfest Adventures in the Napa Valley found the Pfatt ladies going in seperate directions. Most of the girls decided to head to San Jose for a tour of the Winchester Mystery House. Me? I wanted to sleep that night...and the next...and the next...so I chose to head North (away from the ghoulies) with Iva and Penny McAllister.

We made a quick stop...well it was supposed to be quick...at Castle In The Air in Berkeley. The store was packed to the gills with goodies. Much more so than usual. We had a wonderful time shopping and creative juices were flowing. It was so much fun to watch Penny devour every bit of it. Seeing it with someone who has never been before is a great experience.

Here is Mz. Penny standing out front of the Castle. I was so happy to be able to spend the day with her and Iva. This Alabama gal is a Fierce Delight!! She had us in stitches our whole trip (and she kept our bellies full).

Next we headed over to Sausalito for lunch. It was a beautiful day. I wish we would have had more time to explore the shops in the area. Instead we took our time enjoying the view over an amazing lunch at Scoma's.

Isn't it a beautiful restaurant?

After we enjoyed the view from outside the restaurant and snapped a few pictures we headed up to San Anselmo for a quick shopping excursion. Then....we headed back to meet up with the rest of the group so we could go visit
Wendy Addison at her Theatre of Dreams

Check back tomorrow for those pictures...they are pure magic!

Pfatt Pfest Adventure Day 1

Our Napa Valley adventure is over but long from forgotten. We experienced good food, good wine, great friends and wonderful adventures.

Day One was all about picking the girls up from the airport. They flew in from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Oregon and Southern California. When Iva and I arrived at the airport the girls were definately weary from their travels. Once we had scooped everyone up we headed to the house on the hill. A 5000 square foot sprawling stone home where we would all be staying.

Here is a peek...

And the view...from our 1000 foot high house on the hill...

We spent Day one just chatting...LOTS of chatting...cooking and getting settled in. Here is what we saw when we arrived at the house.

A little dinner time prep and we were ready to wind down for our big adventure the next day...

The Pfatties Are Coming!!

Yes, they are! Look out Northern California!! I've had lots of questions about Pfatt Pfest since I posted the banner below.

What is Pfatt Pfest?

Pfatt Pfest is a gathering of like minded artists from across the nation who are getting together for 6 days of laughter, shopping, sightseeing, eating, a little sleeping...and art. This years Pfatt Pfest is based here in Northern California and Iva and I have been busy planning outings for the group. It's going to be a great time and I can't wait to see the Pfatt Sisters. We are staying together, under one roof, in a 5,000 square foot house on a hill with beautiful views. Should be interesting.

Watch my blog next week for lots of pictures and insight to what the Pfatties are about.

Life has taken a bit of a turn for me lately and I apologize to those of you I owe emails to. Things have been unbelievably busy. Now that we have flushed the flu out of our house and gotten the boys back to school after Spring Break we have received a new addition to our home. My niece has come to live with us!! What in the world am I supposed to do with a girl?? I only know boys!! Well I was a little worried about this at first. But she is settling in nicely and since she is past the puberty...I hate my Mother stage...I think things will be fine. The boys adore her and she feels the same about them. It's been interesting to see how she interacts with each one differently based on their interests.

Enjoy your week. I will be back after the Pfatties leave and promise lots of fun stories and pictures.
