Pretty...Then Poof !!

I always do a major work room clean up in January. It starts my year off right and January 2008 was no exception. In addition to cleaning up, I go thru my space and look at how the "set up" of it is or isn't working for me. This year I got rid of a table that was up against the wall that...when I brought it into the space...I had grand plans for. Well it ended up being a dumping ground so out it went. I then moved this table into the center of the room. I got some bed risers and put the table up on them so the table is now counter height. I also added some small shelving under the table (a girl can never have too much storage space) and wrapped the table in the skirt. The skirt is attached to the table with velcro so when I am working...it is easy to get to the shelves under the table.

Is it this clean and tidy all the time you ask??? Absolutely...NOT!
That is the "poof" part...It was pretty and clean and then I started a new project. It was great while it lasted!!

To see more pictures of my space, pop on over to the side bar and click on the link.

Oh Colleen!!! What I would give for a beautiful (and organized) workspace like yours... c'est magnifique! How pleasant it must be to sit and work on something creative in such a pretty and (I'm guessing) peaceful space. I am inspired to fluff up and re-do mine... just one problem. Where do you put all the 'stuff' you don't have room for?! Ha! I need a backhoe I'm afraid...
Lovely pictures!

OMG! Too beautiful to be a work space, replete with a crystal chandelier, sigh. I LOVE your idea of raising the table to counter height, and I love ALL of the pictures. My work space is a fun place for me, but not nearly as serene and coordinated as yours. Call mine a hodge-podge and yours a sanctuary!

OK girl...now I have Colleen Moody's studio envy! What an amazing and magical wonderland of creativity! Proud of ya girl! (patting ya on the back) I believe you have arrived! I'm with Nana Lori though...why wasn't this gorgeous place on our Pfatt Pfest itinerary? Shoot girl...I would've even paid admission to see it up close and personal! Although, your darling silver paintbrush holder might've come up missing after my visit! LOL!

Oh...and those drawers filled with jewels, gems, rhinestones and pearls...Mmmmm mmm mmm! You were so right when you said "A girl has to have options"!

You did a great job...now you can come over and pretty mine up!

Miss ya!

Thank you for adding the poof part! I was just feeling bad about my work space. Fabric, paint and parts everywhere. It was pretty a few months ago. Maybe I should take a day, okay let's be honest, a week, and get it back again to a place where a door may be left open! I love your blog!
